Wroughton & Wichelstowe

Robert, Brian and Cathy

The ward of Wroughton & Wichelstowe in the South Swindon parliamentary constituency is represented by Conservative Councillors Brian Ford and Cathy Martyn, and David Martyn.

Brian Ford: "It has been a privilege to live and work in Wroughton for over 40 years. It is a fantastic place to raise and family and I have enjoyed representing you on the Council for the past 35 years.

Through my role as the Cabinet Member for Adults & Health I have also been helping direct the Council’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I represent your views on the Council and regularly put forward your comments at planning committee meetings. I have been instrumental in delivering a zebra crossing outside The Grange, securing an ‘unsuitable for HGVs’ sign for Bakers Road & Greens Lane, and getting confirmation that the footpath from Inverary Road to Wichelstowe will be improved in the near future.

Alongside my Conservative colleague, David Martyn, I am seeking your vote in the crucial local elections on Thursday 6th May".

David Martyn: "My name is David Martyn and I am a current Parish Councillor here in Wroughton.

If elected on Thursday 6th May, working alongside Cllr Brian Ford and Cllr Cathy Martyn, I will continue to fight inappropriate planning applications which will negatively impact our village, continue to push the local NHS to build a doctor’s surgery in Wichelstowe sooner rather than later, keep working for additional road safety improvements in and around Wroughton, and lobby the Government for improved broadband infrastructure.

Every vote will count in this election as Wroughton & Wichelstowe is a marginal ward. Please vote for us, Cllr Brian Ford and David Martyn, so that we can join Cllr Cathy Martyn and ensure that our communities have a strong and united team representing them on Swindon Borough Council".
