Swindon Conservatives have announced their support for a local "City of Swindon" bid, and pledge not to use any expensive consultants or tax payers money in the submission. The competition for towns to become cities has been launched to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Following the welcome announcements about the important resurfacing work on Thamesdown Drive, which is due to begin in the next few weeks - a number of residents have also been highlighting roads or pavements in addition to this that require attention in the ward.
The BBC Blue Planet programme did a great job in raising awareness of how plastics and litter affect wildlife and our oceans. 3 years ago the Conservatives led a Council debate for action on single use plastics. Swindon Council has now reduced single use plastics by 90%!
Following reports from residents Councillor Jo Morris, Councillor Vinay Manro and candidate Kate Tomlinson have been looking at some damaged verges in Priory Vale. They are discussing options with Swindon Borough Council highways officers to look for proportionate solutions.
