Councillor for Ridgeway Ward
Cabinet Member for Strategic Infrastructure, Transport & Planning

“Very excited about my new role as Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Transport and Planning.

Swindon is now viewed as an attractive location for businesses in which to invest and that’s partly due to relatively low land values, coupled with a fantastic location on the M4 Growth Corridor, but we need a strategic vision to bring together the practical infrastructure required to deliver this growth and to have an overview about how a range of transport options can make that growth sustainable.

My portfolio brings together all things ‘Strategic’ including Town Centre Masterplan and Movement strategy, Transport including road and rail and the growth and delivery of housing and employment options for the Borough.

We now have a track record of achievement in both the New Eastern Villages and Wichelstowe (£125m of Highways improvements - funded & under construction) and developers know they can talk to us about their plans.

I am hugely ambitious for the growth of the Borough and the benefits which will come for the people who wisely choose to live here and their families.”
